The Division of Information Technology provides technologies in support of learning and teaching, administration, and research at all of NIU's campuses. IT manages administrative and academic computing, computer operations, information management and security, telecommunications, and the NIU network.
The Helpdesk provides technology support 24/7/365 to the NIU community. It monitors applications running on IT servers and contacts technicians when issues arise. The Technology Support Desk, located in the Library, provides face-to-face technology support to students, faculty and staff, retirees, and prospective students visiting campus.
IT Governance - The Vice President for Information Technology has created a governance framework that yields some decision-making authority to a committee structure to meet the university’s need for a more connected and responsive IT community.
IT policies, standards and procedures address appropriate use, copyrights, privacy, security, and management of data.
